If your child is absent you must send a note to school as well as call the school in the morning at 718-847-3904 to inform us. If your child is ill, even for only one day either in-person or on-line, the child must return with a doctor’s note specifying the following:

  1. Diagnosis of illness/or the words non-Covid related illness stated
  2. Note must state: Child is clear to return to school on _________(date)
  3. Medical Doctor’s signature clearly indicated Doctor’s license number

THIS NOTE IS REQUIRED FOR ANY ILLNESS…… IF EVEN FOR A DAY! If we do not have a doctor’s note, we will call you to come and pick up your child. Your child will not be able to attend class in person and must remain home until we have the doctor’s note, even for just one day. This note should be given to the teacher at line-up time in the morning. THIS POLICY IS FOR ALL OF OUR STUDENTS IN THE SCHOOL INCLUDING PKA. We are doing this for the safety of everyone in our school. Thank you for your cooperation.

Dr. Piro

When you are waiting on the sidewalk in front of the school in the morning to drop off your children or in the afternoon to pick them up, please make sure that you are observing social distancing and that you and your children are wearing masks at all times. Children and adults need to maintain at least 6 feet social distancing from others. We are very concerned about the lack of people following this policy. Thank you for your cooperation.
