Letter From the Pastor

STA_official_pix_copyThank you for taking the opportunity to visit the website for Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Academy. Since 1916, the Parishioners, Clergy and Religious Sisters at Saint Thomas the Apostle Church, Parochial School and Catholic Academy, have been motivated by the desire to root our children in our Catholic Faith as part of their earliest foundation-building academic experience. For generations, our Parish has seen our work in education as a vital ministry of the Parish, Community and World.

As Pastor of Saint Thomas the Apostle Parish I am confident that Academy Administration, Faculty and Staff, in union with the Parish Staff are committed to providing our children with a holistic education that encompasses spiritual, academic, social and physical disciplines. In addition to Academy Rules and regulations, all Catholic families are strongly encouraged to live our faith by weekly participation at Mass so as to develop a personal relationship with the Jesus who inspires us to act justly, live peacefully and walk humbly with our God.

While we welcome children of all faiths and creeds, our primary goal is to form our youth in the traditions of the Catholic Church, while providing a well-rounded education in an atmosphere of respect and inclusion that are the hallmarks of our belief.

The Board of Directors and the Board of Members, which guide the Catholic Academy, together with the Principal, teachers and Academy Staff, look forward to providing a quality private, Catholic education in Woodhaven. We seek to continue our 100 years of education and service by serving your education and formational needs.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to share our faith and love for learning.

Sincerely,
Reverend Frank C. Tumino,
Pastor
